Come Inside is a musical work for choir (SATB plus soloists), string trio and piano. Based musically and midrashically on the first verse of Parshat Vayera (Gen. 18:1), Come Inside is a commentary on the development of liberal Judaism: rooted in tradition, but grafting together traditional and modern elements into a living organism.
The work was written for the triple anniversary of Temple Sinai, South Burlington, Vermont, celebrating 40 years as a congregation, 25 years for Rabbi James Glazier, and 20 years in the building. The premiere performance was held on June 2, 2006 at Temple Sinai. Other performances include November 4, 2006, at Ohavi Zedek Synagogue in Burlington, and May 19, 2007 at Beth Jacob Synagogue in Montpelier.
